Some of history’s greatest artists have also been the most troubled. Explore the fine line between genius and madness — inspiration and insanity — brilliance and recklessness.
Maestro Lauren Green conducts a symphonic sampler of some of the greatest music in the repertoire, all produced by composers who not only struggled with their art, but often with their very lives.
The program will include movements from Tchaikovski’s Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique”, Schumann’s Symphony No. 3 “Rhenish”, Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances”, plus music of Berlioz and Scriabin.
Out of emotional depths comes the height of beauty! A sonic spectacular, not to be missed!
