The thrilling Grieg Piano Concerto, performed by the phenomenal young pianist Ian Parker, provides the centerpiece for a scintillating evening of beautiful symphonic music. If January’s concert was “Genius on the Edge” this concert could be termed “Genius in the Mainstream”, featuring beautiful music of several composers who led happy, productive–and fairly normal–lives.

Surrounding the popular Grieg masterpiece will be Mendelssohn’s “Fingal’s Cave Overture”, David Ott’s ethereal “Water Garden” and a suite of music from Richard Strauss’ monumental and passionate Der Rosenkavalier.
