Lori Roll has been a member of the Bartlesville Symphony Board since 2003. And has been involved with development, marketing and other areas as requested. She has a background in marketing, public relations, arts and events management, health care management, volunteerism, and motherhood. She is currently in the insurance industry, and is President of Phoenix Insurance Inc., in Bartlesville. Lori states, “I support the arts in general and want to be a part of furthering our rich community for present and future generations. I see it as a way to unite the community in education and enrichment. I am proud of our place in the community and my involvement in this organization. I’m thrilled that we have such a skilled, progressive, enthusiastic symphony orchestra and board, which shows the caliber of community in which we live.”
Lori recommends that everyone should, “Pick one and GO! Open your eyes and your ears to something new. This isn’t your father’s symphony! Even if it’s not your favorite, try another one. Make it a family/social outing. Get involved. As Frank Zappa said, ‘All the good music has already been written by people with wigs and stuff.’” She wants BSO subscribers to know to bring friends, especially your kid’s’ friends. She believes we need to pass the baton to the younger generation so that they will learn an appreciation of the finer arts in life beyond ‘their’ music, cell phones and TV.
