Gulnara (Gulya) Garipova has played the Cello for the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra since 2005. Her education includes 4 years at Kazan Music College followed by 5 years at Kazan State Conservatoire, Russia. In 1990 and again in 1993 she attended the Academy of Music named after the Gnesins, Moscow. In 1998 she toured Italy with the Izhevsk symphonic orchestra and attended the following; 1999- Kazan State Conservatoire Professional advancement: chamber ensemble, 2000- Musical College named after the Gnesins, Moscow, 2001- Creative School “Mayer Class”, Moscow. For 18 years, she was a teacher for cello training of the highest skill category, Arts Master and Artist of the chamber orchestra, Nizhnekamsk Musical College, Russia. Gulnara says, “I like to be around good music and good people. People should attend a symphony concert to lift their spirits and brighten their lives.” Some of her favorite Orchestral pieces to playin include, Tchaikovsky: Romeo & Juliet, Rachmaninov: Piano concertos, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in blue.
