The financial contributions of individual supporters and audience members form the backbone of the symphony’s operation. Ticket sales account for only 30-40% of the symphony’s income. It is up to special friends of the symphony to help fill the gap. Here are a few ways you can help with your tax-deductible gifts:
Donations
Individual donations of all sizes are encouraged! Donors of gifts to the symphony of $50 and more will be listed in symphony programs according to the following categories:
Directors Circle-$10,000 and above
President’s Circle-$5,000-$9,999
Maestro’s Circle-$2,500-$4,999
Concertmaster’s Circle-$1,000-$2,499
Musician’s Circle-$550-$999
Guarantor-$275-$549
Sponsor-$125-$274
Contributor-Up to $124
Donors of $50 and above will be recognized in concert programs and on this website. Each level of patronage will receive our thanks plus special sparkling benefits just for donors of each category, including perks to be announced. These may include such things as after-concert receptions, private parties, CD’s, rehearsal passes, BSO tote bags and more!
Memorials
A meaningful way to honor friends and relatives who have passed away is to contribute to the symphony as a memorial to them. Your memorial donation and its honoree will be so indicated in the listing of donors. It should also be noted that it is perfectly acceptable to honor living people in a similar fashion! What better gift to honor someone who loves the Symphony than to contribute to the symphony in his/her honor. Such “In Honor Of…” gifts would also be highlighted in the program in similar fashion as the Memorial gifts.
The Symphony also gratefully encourages its supporters to remember the Bartlesville Symphony in their own estate planning and when designating recipients of memorial gifts.
Sponsorships
While Sponsorships (not to be confused with the ‘Sponsor’ category above) are often snatched up by businesses, individuals are certainly welcome to consider sponsoring concerts, receptions or symphony chairs. For these larger donations, donors would be listed in the donor list appearing in each program, as well as having their name attached to whatever event or chair they sponsor. See the business donation page for further information.
Bartlesville Symphony Foundation
The Bartlesville Symphony Foundation has recently been formed to ensure the long-term financial stability of the Bartlesville Symphony. Contributions are encouraged from individuals and businesses, alike. Unlike other contributions, donations to the Foundation do not directly assist in the operation of the Symphony. Instead, they are used to form the principal body of the Foundation’s holdings, the interest from which will eventually be available for operations, special projects or reinvestment for future use. See the Bartlesville Symphony Foundation page for further information.
